In the late morning of Wednesday, May 25, there was a potential threat that was under investigation at Rock Island High School. Police were immediately alerted, and out of an abundance of caution, RIMSD Administration issued a Lock-In status to all buildings at 10:48 a.m.
During Lock-In status, students and staff are able to move around inside the buildings, but no one is allowed to enter or exit the building.
The incident was deemed to be not of a threatening nature to Rock Island High School or any of the school buildings.
The Lock-In status was removed and buildings have been released for all-clear at 11:30 a.m. and the school day resumed as planned. Thank you for your understanding as District Administration worked through the issue.
