RIMSD Students and Staff Take Part in Mentoring Day

On Monday, Jan. 30 RIMSD staff and students participated in the Martin Luther King Jr. Mentor Day at the Rogalski Center at St. Ambrose University. The event touched on Muhammed Ali's 6 core principles (Confidence, Conviction, Dedication, Giving, Respect, and Spirituality.)

Washington Jr. High and Edison Jr. High students engaged in small discussion groups with members from Davenport community schools to review these principles.

Guest speakers included Washington's Larry Harris Jr, Rock Island head basketball coach Marc Polite, RIMSD Superintendent Dr.Lawrence, and others from the community. Superintendent Dr. Lawrence also got to be a mentor too.
