At the regular board meeting on May 9, the Board of Education approved the hiring of two assistant principals. 

 

Jessica Israel will be the Assistant Principal at Frances Willard for the 2023-2024 school year. Israel is an alumnus of the Rock Island- Milan School District. She has worked as an elementary special education teacher for Black Hawk Area Education District and the Rock Island-Milan School District for 4.5 years. Jessica was a Special Education Teacher for Communication and Social Development for one year. Jessica is currently the 2022- 23 Interim Assistant Principal at Frances Willard Elementary. She has proven many times over that she creates strong relationships with students, parents, and staff. Jessica is a hard worker and strives to learn what is required of her to help move a building forward.

Carmen Woods will be the Assistant Principal for Washington Junior High School for the 2023-24 school year. For the last six years, Carmen has been the Assistant Principal at Rock Island High School. As the Assistant Principal at Rock Island High School, Carmen established and implemented a master schedule by working with the High School Labor Management Team. Her experience with the High School schedule, the High School curriculums, the High School assessments, and the special education department will bring needed alignment to and from the Junior High and High School.
